I haven't posted in quite a while, but now that things have settled down a bit, I have sooooo much to tell!
BRIEF SYNOPSIS OF THE PAST 2 WEEKS:
We made some new friends! Holly and Kolt are both from Austin and recently moved to San Diego and live on Ocean Beach!!! They are awesome people and we have enjoyed hanging out with them! Holly is an incredibly sweet, laid back, intelligent mid-twenties who is an RN at a local hospital. Her friend/roomate, Kolt, is a world traveler, free-spirited, late-twenties guy with a big heart and a love for adventure.
We made an evening trip right up the street to Shelter Island to take some photos...
The cool thing about this photo is that it was actually pitch dark... I had the aperture opened to 2.5 and set the exposure for 30 secs. The result was that you see the bright downtown lights and a heavenly-like sunset, which actually wasn't even there! TOO AWESOME!!!
This is what it actually looked like... However, the ambient glow of city lights created the orangish-yellow cloud above.
I also created a fantasy type photo, compiled of a bunch of photos I took around the garden, at the beach, and in the house... This is my first attempt, so I'm hoping I'll get better.
I also planted a shade garden, so that my Grandpa would have something pretty to look at outside of his bedroom window, rather than a dirt covered embankment.
I made these steps, because the embankment is REALLY steep and hard to walk up and down (especially after watering).
We also went to Harbor Island to take pics one night and came across an accident. We got an excellent shot of a firetruck with traffic whizzing by (again, we did a long exposure to create the effect of streaks of light from cars' headlights).
I also added a flower to my hummingbird feeder and made another for my aunt (she was in town all last week). Didn't get pics of the new feeder though. :-(
I have also been writing quite a bit!!!
In other news, Delilah (my female black lab) tore her Achilles tendon while playing at dog beach... She is on the mend, but is a bit depressed that she can't get around too easily.

Trip to Balboa Park
Clint was off today, so we decided to go to Balboa Park! It's an incredible area, full of various museums, lush gardens, and an archery range (which do you think Clint was most interested in? LOL!).
Anyhoo, snapped some excellent photos! I guess I was inspired by the stellar Museum of Photographic arts!!!
Question is, which ones did I photo shop? LOL! It was a great time! The archery range was awesome too! Can't wait to take my bow out there!
